Wow, this was the most difficult windshield replacement ever. My first appointment was cancelled because the first technician "Alex" forgot the windshield molding and rescheduled for the next day. The second technician "Angel" discovered rust damage (thank you for letting me know so it can be repaired) but was a complete jerk about the process. The third technician "Tavarish" was angry and passive aggressive the whole time. He was rude and left my car with sealant all over the passengers side of the car as well as didn't install the rear view mirror. Also he didn't fully install the molding correctly the sealant is exposed. The best part is I have all three of these incidents save on my security cameras so I will share them with corporate. This was epicly terrible service!

Here’s my Safelite story, but it’s much different from the sappy tv commercials. Vanessa from Safelite Autoglass Durham, NC came to my home on 11/19/20 at 3:05 PM to repair a stone chip on my windshield. She explained that the chip could spread once heated. I signed a release acknowledging this possibility. She was on her cellphone the entire time she was servicing my vehicle. 15 minutes later, she told me the crack had spread and grew longer. I asked her, " what happens now'" She told me to call the office to make an appointment for a new windshield. My deductible is $500. I called the office to speak to her manager (Chris Knight), but after 20 minutes on hold, an operator in Raleigh, NC told me to try later. I went to the Durham location Friday 11/20/20 @ 10:00AM in an attempt to talk to the manager. He was off that day. To this date, Chris has not been available and my calls haven't been returned. I had to spend $500 to get a new windshield at the Durham location due to Vanessa's incompetence. I feel Safelite should refund at least $250 since the damage was caused by their negligence. I’m very dissatisfied and disappointed by Safelite’s customer service and professionalism.

This place is awful

This place is awful. Sat at their place for over 3 hours to replace the windshield only to find out after I got home that the sun roof does not work and is cracked open for the rain. It was fine when I got there. Trying to follow up and reach a live person is impossible. They want you to book another appt online 30 days out, yet my sun roof is open and the controls don’t work. They are using Covid to avoid having anyone available to answer a phone. So frustrating. I certainly don’t want to drive another 40 minutes to the location to try and get service. Never again. You have other options. So frustrating.

I wanted to give them 5 stars

I wanted to give them 5 stars, as I had used them exclusively for the past 7 years, but I couldn't because of the way I was treated! Before my last installation, their technician installed my windshield improperly and now the rubber/cowl parts had to be replaced. They said i took it some other place and so they wouldn't pay for the replacement. I had the documentation from Geico to prove my case. To make a long story short, I dealt with 5 different employees, all of which told me I would get a call back....only 1 came thru, after she came back from a month long hiatus. They were accusatory and just plain unreliable! I will reconsider my next choice when it comes up again. PS: The tech who finally did the work did a great job from what I could determine.

Will never use Safelite again

Only gave them 1 star because I had to select something. Appointment was set and met quickly, but either the windshield they put in had a broken mount for rain sensor or the tech broke it. It has been a month since they put the windshield in but still have not replaced the broken part. I have spent no less than 12 hours on the phone trying to get an answer on what part they are waiting for and when it will come in, but no one at the 7 different phone numbers provided to me my Safelit themselves is able to answer me.
They took my money immediately but thats about it. I will NEVER use Safelite again.

I wish I could give 0 stars

I wish I could give 0 stars. The tech showed up at my house stating they’d need cover to work as it was raining yet somehow didn’t think to mention that in the quote for which I paid $500 ($482.26 to be exact) and I guess common sense and problem solving isn’t strong amongst this group of yahoo’s. This was all for my mom. After she called to tell me this I called the tech and he did not pickup do I left a message to have him call one of us ASAP and I called the company and began to inform of the issue and explained that I am a solution finder I don’t have time or patience for arguing. The dude hung up on me as I was saying that we could go to walmart and buy a cover or whatever. That sent me over the edge as again I PAID $500 got them to replace my windshield. Not got attitude, not rudeness, not issues. I then called back and a woman picked up and she was apologetic and kind so I appreciate her but FVKC THIS COMPANY !!!! Be transparent with your customers and again if we’re paying that much money your mobile drivers should have mobile garages or covers so that they may work in whatever condition without issues. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CHARGE WHAT YOU CHARGE.

Safelite in Raleigh, NC (3070 Business Park Drive); don't go there.

Nice try Safelite, but when a windshield has the size of a softball crack, the windshield should be replaced not a bootleg, half way full job. Today (03/06/2021) my daughter took her 2016 Honda HR-V into the Safelite shop on 3070 Business Park Drive in Raleigh, NC with a crack in her windshield the size of a softball or bigger. All they did was add epoxy and said it should be okay for the next 2-3 years. Wow, really, looking at the picture she sent me it looks even worst. Then they told her if she wanted it fixed it would be over $400.00.

Wrong product

I had a broken wing window on a 2012 Equinox, scheduled an appt and when their employee came on time he had brought wrong window. Scheduled it for two days later, the window got fixed, great job, but I ordered their windshield wipers. They were NOT the correct size and I could never get a hold of a human to figure out what to do. The nearest store was 40 minutes away. I went to another store to see what was the problem, they absolutely were the wrong size, banged every time I used them and didn't clean windshield, plus not put on right. My invoice said one figure and I was charged another. Bought a pair at the other store, they put them on and they work like a charm. I would never recommend any other service other than window replacement.

I had my windshield broken due to…

I had my windshield broken due to extreme cold weather in San Antonio, Texas last week. I called my vehicle insurance provider and they recommended Safelite to replace and repair the windshield. George was the technician who came to my work place to work on it on the parking lot. He took about an hour to fix it. The job was well done and ver professional. I can’t believe they can come to the house, workplace or anywhere else while people is occupied with daily responsibilities. Making this possible way of no more missing appointments from work just to bring the vehicle to get it repaired. Nice way of doing things, I really appreciate it very much. Safelite made my day easygoing and I intend to recommend it to my friends, and family. Thank you Safelite for everything and your outstanding service.
